DONATIONS:
Do you have a bicycle that's collecting dust in your garage or basement? Maybe old toys your children have outgrown? Donate them to a good cause! OCI is having a Donation Drop Off on August 16, 2008 in Highland Park, Illinois. Donations of bikes, toys and the like for children ages 0-21 are much appreciated. (At this time, we cannot take clothing.) Bring your donation to the Mobil Gas Station at 1992 2nd Street, Highland Park, IL 60035 on Saturday, August 16, 2008, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
A Chicago business is partnering with OCI to assist in providing employment experience to interested foster youths. The business has agreed to hire 10-15 individuals. If you are a foster youth or know a foster youth who is interested, please contact OCI at ocillinois@gmail.com for more information.
At present, we are asking individuals or groups to raise money on their own and donate the proceeds to Our Community of Illinois. We are in the process of establishing volunteer opportunities.
