Partnering Youth With Our Community
Our Community of
Illinois was founded by five attorneys and Guardians ad litem who
represent children and youth in the Illinois foster care system. They see
first hand, the inequities these kids face, whether it's attendance in the
worst schools, staggering drop-out rates or little hope of success in our
high-tech economy. Every community has a wide range of resources
available for community use, but few partnerships exist to bring these
resources to kids affected by the foster care system in Cook County and
throughout Illinois. With the help of businesses, corporations,
volunteers, individuals and community leaders, we can enhance the lives of
thousands of children and youth who are part of Our Community.
